Guatemala City, March 27th, 2020.

Five days into a national quarantine, silence and isolation begin to weigh heavily on my mind. An almost empty apartment building becomes shelter—its vacant parking garage both refuge and canvas. A chance to explore performance in motion while the world stands still.

Through long exposure, dressed in black in the hope of disappearing, a single red light strapped to my bicycle draws glowing streaks across the darkness.

A three-frame progression reveals increasingly braver attempts, culminating in my emergence as an assertive protagonist. An added perpendicular view—wider and deeper into the cavernous space— extends in a ten-second rebellion of movement to accompany the three.​ In silence.
